MileSpeak Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 4, 2026 · Applies to the MileSpeak app for iPhone, iPad and Android (bundle / package com.taka.myenglish).

1. Who we are

MileSpeak is published by Takalogy ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].

2. Information that stays on your device

MileSpeak is designed to work offline. The following information is created and stored only on your device, inside the app's storage. We cannot see it and it is not sent to us:

• Your learning progress, streak, unlocked states, postcards and stamps.
• Your choices: translation language, interface language, goals and job track, reminder time, voice speed and other settings.
• Lines you save for review.
• SOS "My info" you choose to fill in (name, address, emergency contact, allergies, medicines, conditions). It is stored and shown only on your device, for example to paramedics, and is never sent to us or anyone else.
• Your plan status (Free, Basic or Premium) as reported by the store.

If you delete the app, this information is deleted. If you use your device's own backup (for example iCloud Backup or Android backup), the app's storage may be included in that backup under the terms of Apple or Google; we do not have access to it.

3. Microphone and recordings

The microphone is used only when you tap to record yourself in the listen-and-repeat practice, so you can hear your voice next to the model speaker. Recordings are kept in the device's memory for playback during your practice session. They are never uploaded, never shared with us or with any third party, and are not used to evaluate or score your speech. You can deny or remove microphone access at any time in your device settings; the rest of the app keeps working.

4. Notifications

If you allow it, MileSpeak schedules a daily reminder at the time you choose. Reminders are local notifications created on your device. No push-notification service or token is used, and nothing is sent to us. You can turn reminders off in the app or in your device settings.

5. Photos and sharing

Postcards you choose to share or save are drawn on your device. If you tap Save, the app asks for permission to add the image to your photo library; it does not read your photos. If you share a postcard, the system share sheet sends it only to the app or person you pick. On Android, postcards are shared through the system share sheet; no photo permission is requested.

6. Network requests

Lessons, audio and most images are built into the app. When your device is online, the app may download extra daily cover images from our website (getmyenglish.com). Like any web connection, the server may receive your device's IP address and basic technical information (such as device type) in order to deliver the file. These requests do not include any identifier, account or learning data, and we do not use them to identify or profile you. Links to our Terms, this policy or the store open in your browser and are subject to that website's policy.

7. iPhone and iPad: no ads, no tracking

The iOS and iPadOS version of MileSpeak contains no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking SDKs, and it does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA). In Apple's App Privacy terms, we do not collect data from this app.

8. Android: ads by Google AdMob

The Android version of MileSpeak is free and every lesson is open. It is supported by ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited). To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process, under Google's own policies:

Data is encrypted in transit. We do not receive your identity from Google; we only see aggregated ad reports.

Legal basis (EEA/UK): personalized ads are shown only with your consent, collected through Google's consent message; non-personalized ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention rely on our legitimate interest in funding the free Android app. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app (Settings > Privacy & ads > Privacy & ad settings).

Your choices on Android

• Withdraw or change consent: in the app, open Settings > Privacy & ads > Privacy & ad settings. Where no consent is required, the button tells you so.
• Consent: in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, and wherever required by law, the app shows Google's consent message before personalized ads. If you do not consent, Google may show non-personalized ads, which still use some data for frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention.
• Advertising ID: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads (wording may differ by device).
• Personalized ads: you can opt out of ads personalization in your device settings, and manage Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.

The Android version currently has no in-app purchases.

9. Purchases (iPhone and iPad)

Basic and Premium yearly subscriptions and the Premium Lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment card or Apple Account details. The app only receives a confirmation from Apple that a purchase is active, and stores your plan status on your device. Subscriptions are managed and canceled in your App Store account settings; Apple's privacy policy applies to the payment.

10. Children

MileSpeak is made for adults learning English for life in the United States. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The iOS version collects no personal data from anyone. If you believe a child has used the Android version and you have a concern about ads, contact us and we will help.

11. Your rights

Because we do not hold personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete: your data lives on your device and is removed when you delete the app. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or LGPD), you have rights over personal data. For data processed by Google for ads on Android, you can use the controls above or Google's tools. California (CPRA): we do not sell personal information for money. Showing personalized ads through Google AdMob on Android may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. To opt out, turn off ads personalization or delete your Advertising ID in Android Settings, or write to [email protected]. The iOS version does not sell or share personal information. For any question or request, write to [email protected]; we reply within 30 days.

12. Security and retention

We do not run servers that store your learning data. Requests to our website use HTTPS. Our hosting provider may keep short-lived technical logs for security and reliability.

13. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date. If a change means the app starts collecting new data, we will tell you in the app and in the store listing before it happens.
